The race which is organized in behalf of Bakırköy Mayoralty was held in Istanbul Veliefendi Race Course on 19th Friday 2009, Sunday (KV 7/DHÖW).
Eight purebred Arabian race horses participated in this race for four-year-old and up. The purebred Arabian DEMİRSOY (Demirkır-Göksu) owned by Selma Gülerce, with the jockey Halis Karataş, won the turf course race of 1600 meters in 1.45.43. The championship award was TL 45,500.
KANDEMİR took the second place, AYTANHAN third and, YALÇINER fourth place. Distances 1/2 height – 4 height – 2,5 height.
Bakırköy Mayor Ateş Ünal Erzen gave the cup to former chairman Ömer Faruk Girgin, on behalf of Selma Gülerce, owner of the horse that won the race.
And also Mr. Behçet Homurlu, chairman of the Jockey Club of Turkey successively participated in the cup ceremony.
